So one of our silkies wasn't growing, and we discovered she was having trouble walking, so we've hobbled her legs with vet tape (about 2 weeks ago) and she seems to be doing a lot better...she's eating and drinking...and although she's still the size of a 3 week old chick instead of 5 week old like her sibling...she seems to be OK, and is finally starting to eat and drink and grow and seems much happier
Except that her legs/walking are not correcting at all if we take the tape off. She's not interested in trying to do PT in the cup. Is there much else I can do? Am I just prolonging the inevitable ? Should I just let her live out her life with a hobble? She's much more mobile when hobbled then when not. Also she's removed from the others, and long term we don't have space for her to stay on her own permanently so how to integrate her with the others without getting crushef when she's so much smaller and unable to get away.
Has anyone found hobbling longer then 4 or 5 days actually work? Or permanently?
