It was only a matter of time before all the silkie hens went broody and ganged up on me to stop me taking the eggs.
Hatch day is upon us and I’m curious to know what colors are possible with this group.

Rooster; white
Hens; 4 black (or dark grey possibly), 1 white, 1 paint

The pretty babies we’ve got so far;

Ahhh!! They’re cute! The last on looks Partridge

1 black, 3 partridge, and 1 blue so far. There’s one more egg that’s pipped, we’ll see what comes out.
I think it’s really interesting we got so many partridge silkies, with the combos I gave I wasn’t expecting it. Recessive genes I suppose, always fun to get a few surprises.

Looks like your male is recessive white and you have a grey/silver partridge mama
That makes sense. So the roo always gave a recessive white gene and the hens either gave black, blue, or partridge.

Eyebrows chick was the last to hatch, probably gonna be a solid black when she’s big but it’s be neat if she kept those markings.
(Final count; 3 partridge, 2 black, 1 blue + some happy hens, though one says they need more babies still)
