Silkie or not??

This is my 6 week Ayam cemani
mix chick. What are these feathers on her back are they silkie ( she is about the size of a 4 wk old) ? Also it is a high possibilaty that one of her parents where silkie.

Nope, not a pure Silkie. This bird's feathers have a web and are normal.

It looks like the chick is in the process of feathering out, so that may go away, or maybe the chick will have partially silky plumage. The wing feathers and the feathers at the upper back look pretty normal, though, so that's why I don't think your chick will turn out to have the typical Silkie type plumage.

Silkie feathering is recessive so a first generation (F1) Silkie Cross will not show Silkie feathering unless the non Silkie parent is part Silkie.

I don't think it has Silkie in it. That's just normal feathering for a chick.

Definitely not a Silkie, Silkie chickens have fuzz everywhere on their body and buff
orpingtons and other breeds have normal feathers like that in the picture.​
