Yes, I do know that silkies have dark bluish/black skin.

But my silkie has prominent blue skin. It's very shimmery, and is a little darker than the color of her earlobes.

I examined her. It is around her eyes, her wings, her belly, and down to her ankles.

She is a grey/blue silkie (haven't decided which yet, she's only 4 weeks old), and I have never seen skin like this before....is this normal in some silkies? I've just never seen it before.

what´s her color? I have had fibromelanotic birds in the past(native american/Rapanui) and when they have only one copy of the gene(Fibromelanosis) their skin color(white or yellow) will dictate what their color is going to be, if the bird is white skin and has 1 copy of Fm then the bird will have a blueish color on the skin, but if it has yellow skin then it will have a green/greenish skin color... maybe you silkie has only one copy of the fibromelanotic gene?

Does that occur in silkies, with their black skin?

She is blue, I believe (ironic, I know). Right now she just looks greyish though, so maybe she is grey.

But you can clearly see the blue skin underneath her fluff.

Blue: Grey colored bird, and yes you can get the blue colored skin on silkies with project silkie blood in them(grand parents)

So, is bright blue skin a bad thing, like a defect on silkies?
Will I not be able to show her? Or is it just an uncommon but okay thing?
