Ok I have seen the showgirls. silkie x turken . I thought that the silkie feather gene was recessive, so why are these fuzzy ? do you have to do multiple generations to get this to work ? what percentage of fuzzy vs non fuzzy do you get ? thank you

Hi! It takes just 2 generations. First generation of Naked Neck (not carrying silkie feather gene) X Silkie cross will give you all regular feathered chicks, but most if not all, will have the silkie feather gene.
Cross those back to a Silkie and you will get percentage of silkie feathered chicks.
*fuzzy = silkie feathered?*

It takes many generations to get a quality showgirl. However, as Dipsy said, only two to get a silkie feathered naked neck.

F1s wil all carry H/h (one copy non-silkie, one copy silkie); depending on the particular naked neck, they may all be naked necks or only about half. Naked neck always shows.

Cross one of the naked neck F1s to a silkie and half should have silkie feathering; the others will all carry one copy (genetically they are the same as the F1 generation for silkie feathering, but you should see better crests and foot feathering)
