Silky help please!

Is it possible they were bred with RIR’s I know she had some of them there but I was pretty sure she kept them separate… maybe they escaped and had a little affair🤣

That’s good! She does have very light colored skin though.
Thank you for the help. The red comb threw me off! And I made her count the toes again🤣 she is not happy with me. I guess we will wait and see when he grows up to see what a handsome man he will be!

Yep! Her skin should be near black so she can’t be purebred but we know that now! Just not show quality/SOP perfection!
 
These are pet quality silkies. They may have been mixed with something but it has to be at least 2 generations back. If they were directly crossed with the RIR they would all have hard feathers since the silkie feathers are recessive.

Yes the one with the red comb and wattles is a cockerel.

The other may actually be to early to say. Silkies are slow developers. The width of the comb and small crest in some lines would be signs of a male, but since it is lacking the melanistic features it may also have genes that develop faster and larger in the comb. This would mean the chances of it being a pullet are pretty high .
