this years my new ducklings includes a silver appleyard I did not read about their flight abilities until today , I just read "they can fly" what? Can they fly better than a Khaki Campbell? or about the same?

The lighter the duck the better they can fly. A khaki is lighter and can flight better. Silver apple yard are a heavier breeds. I have never seen a full grown one fly in the sense of what you would see a mallard duck fly around, but rather get a couple feet of air to essentially hop over something and the ability to glide back down. (Muscovies excluded from the weight affected ability to fly since they technically are not the same as mallard derived duck breeds).

There are always exceptions and juveniles may be able to get enough air. I personally have never seen an adult get more than 3-4 ft off of the ground.
