I got the bonus chick with my McMurray order, hoping for a roo. Unfortunately, one of my pullets developed a pink comb at 3 weeks and started crowing at 4 weeks. So now I’m hoping that I beat the odds with the polish and that he is actually a she - certainly better odds than hoping my crowing chick is a pullet, lol. I know 6 weeks is early to tell, so I will post again in a couple of weeks. Personality wise, he is the most skittish of my chicks, but not aggressive (unlike my Egyptian Fayoumi chick who likes to bite.)

I’m including pics of my Golden Campine roo and Ancona pullet for comparisons. I’m thinking that so far there is nothing that jumps out as cockerel, so there’s a chance of that we will rename Axl to Janice.

Coming up on 8 weeks in a couple of days. Axl still looks like a pullet. The Ancona is showing a good bit of pink, but much less than 8-week Ancona cockerels. All of the rest are definitely pullets, except for the Campine, who is all boy.
