Snake in chicken coop

I found a black rat snake in my chicken coop. my chickens had almost been acting nocturnal so this explains a lot. I think it was coming out at night and scaring them. My dad removed it and going to relocate it in the morning. However, it’s lip is injured. I don’t know how old the injury is or how long it’s been in the chicken coop. It seems like a piece of lip is almost hanging off? I didn’t see any blood but then again it was dark. I’ll try to post a picture in the morning.

Oh man that's terrifying! Are the chickens alright? Chickens can actually be surprisingly good at fighting. A rat found its way into our chicken coop once... didn't go so well for the rat...

They come for the rodents and stay for the eggs and the chicks. Stop feeding the mice, it solves a lot of problems.

We took him across the road after we found him and he came back! We ended up relocating him further away but if he come back AGAIN…..
