Hi just wanted to introduce myself and my little flock!

I rescued two hens from the animal shelter about seven years ago. I love them and were good layers until recently (but I still love them!).

My husband built a coop and since there’s room, we decided to add a few fresh girls. Unfortunately, each time I get to the shelters, they’re first-come/first served so it’s nearly impossible to get any more rescues.

We decided to order THREE new babies - and they sent us SEVEN!!!
The breed is Black Lace/Gold Wyandotte and they’re adorable.
This is the first time I’ve raised chicks - so it’ll be a challenge!

The extra chick warmers they sent are usually cockerels. Be prepared.

We thought so. I need to find somebody to take them. My city allows hens but no roosters.
When I was looking at the shelters for hens, the poor roos had been there FOREVER.
I hope I find them a home…
