Any recommendations for a solar powered fan that would help move air in the coop and run on hot Texas days?

We just don't get much of a breeze during the summer and the chickens are already panting like dogs.

Good Sunday afternoon 'h', a solar powered fan sounds expensive, although an inexpensive box fan (20.00) from Walmart will work great to move air through your enclosure, and control mosquitoes. I use one set on low and mounted on the outside of our duck pen, it runs 24/7 because of the heat and humidity here in Georgia, and it adds about six extra dollars a month to our electric bill.

If you don't have power available a cheap box fan doesn't do much good....but you're right solar isn't cheap.

Try this @hladik :
advanced search>titles only> solar powered fan

Hi aart, the solar powered fan link you provided had a lot of great information, the very last post by AxisOfBeagles actually had the best info, they are 12 years into a 44 panel home system, and no complaints. I've been looking for a user testimonial for several years concerning home systems, they have had no trouble at all with the panels, and have only replaced two converters 'under warranty'.

The 'advanced search' function is one of the most valuable tools on this site.
