Sore foot and limping

I have a four year cochin (Meredith), I saw her limping and checked out her foot, I'm not sure what it is, because of her slippers she wears, looks almost like she has stepped in chicken poo and it has gotten hard, its about 2 inches of hard like rock, I soaked her foot in warm water for about 20 min and it still seems really hard, any ideas?

Go to the top of this page to the search box, and enter "poop balls on feet"--there are several good threads on that page if that is what you are seeing. Large clumps of manure or mud may have to be soaked and pried off with pliers. Use pine shavings around your coop and run, and fill in muddy areas outside to help prevent it, if that is what the problem is.
