Hello, I need some information. I just took my 2 ducklings to the vet apparently they have splayed leg. It initially started from a vitamin b3 deficiency. I am now supplementing and have been the past week or so. The vet suggested taping their legs together to help them walk but my ducks aren't trying to even walk. They just scoot, they will not even try. Wouldn't Wouldn't tethering their legs together cause them more problems than good. Please help!!!

How old are your ducklings? Do you have them on liquid vitamin B complex? This is the best way to quickly get them what they need for their legs. I had a duckling develop splay leg a couple years ago. She initially was walking, then just started laying much more, and having difficulty standing. I taped her legs together with vet wrap. It sticks to itself and not the duck. I let her swim in the tub everyday to exercise her legs, and when she needed to preen afterwards I kind of supported her body while she stood. You can do that a bit to help strengthen their legs, just don't overdue it. I left the vetwrap on several weeks - beyond when she was finally walking better, just to make sure. Here is a video after she was doing much better:

When I did the vet wrap I initially had someone help me stand her up and put her legs in what would be proper position, then just go around a couple times with vet wrap. I might have put a little wrap first on each leg and then wrapped them into position to have the vet wrap stick to that.

They are between 5-6 weeks old. I separated them from my other 2. They kept getting stepped on. I left them swim in the tub to help strengthen. The are on niacin supplements.

This works really well:
