Spoiled chicken

A solitary chick is a lost and lonely soul, who needs other chicks to grow up happy and well adjusted.

I FULLY understand the flock dynamic.
I appreciate how much people care about that.

But thats not what I am asking.
The thing is I can not have another for two reasons. 1. I cant 2. Iv tried integrating multiple times and was always unsuccessful.

The fact is at thia piint2 I AM indeed raising a single chick.
I wont discard it or place it in danger by throwing in to a flock it wont be accepted or accept.
I wont euthanize it because just no. And because August is very healthy very happy very smart very well adjusted and very much loved.

My question is
From what I have observed this smart lil chickadee has a preference for carnivorous food as opposed to grains etc
August knows when I have the good stuff and if I try to give her/him anythung else first she/he will peck at it and freeze without taking it. Then look at me l. If I dont produce the goods she/he will chirp sternly. Them when I raise the goods up where he/she can see them immediately askws for it then when she/he gets it proceeds with a seriea of hapoy content nom nom chirping.
August will snub all kinds of food until she/he knows all the good stuff (meal worms etc.) Are gone. At that point August will go ahead and eat her grains and seed.

Does that mean Iv spoiled my chicken?

Btw August is a very happy chicken. I saved him/her from dying alone after being rejected and abandoned by the hen who did the brooding. August is 41 days old. Eats only the best foods and most likely believes that my family is her flock. She? is not lonely or distressed in any way. :) please do not worry. I am also training and on top of every step to insure a healthy, happy chicken that knows how to be a chicken.

I apologize for all the typos my eyea are old and not perfect due to diabetes. I cant find my glassea and Im typing on my phone so Im sure you all can imagine my difficulty lol

Chickens are flock animals. One can be raised by itself, but it is not a good life for a chick. Chickens should have other chickens. I think that it would be best to buy two or three more. It’s always more successful integrating more birds-it’s hard to do one, however I have done it. If you want to raise him/her as a single chick, you can, but if you want to ultimately think about how the bird will be happy, you’ll should try to integrate the baby when she is older and with some friends. It will be hard when you first let her out of the integrating run-they’ll peck her and chase her away from the food but you cannot coddle her. She’ll learn and will eventually find her place in the pecking order. And she will get plenty to eat I can assure you. I’ m always integrating chicks into my flock because I hatch A LOT. It really is easy but you can’t feel sorry for them and take them back out! They have suffer a little but they’ll find their place.

This does not mean you've spoiled the chick , what it does mean is your single birdy has trained you very well to get what is most tasty. Honestly sounds like a very normal chicken to me. :)
