Staple for Hardware cloth?

I just recently finished my coop and added hardware cloth underneath it. I used a staple gun to staple it together and I was wondering if that is strong enough to keep the predators out. Has anyone experienced a raccoon or something else get through the HC with staples holding it together??? I want to know before I make the run.

We used staples, long ones, and a bunch of them to staple down the hardware/chicken wire. No problems with anything ripping them out.

I have been using tech screws. Easier and stronger than staples.

We used U-shaped nails. Just seemed like a stronger option. As long as your staples were long, I would think you'd be OK.

For our windows we used staples and then added a few screws/washers.

We used U nails and then backed those up with T50 staple gun staples every few inches. I probably overdid the staples, lol

My husband used screws with big (like 1 inch circles) washers.

I followed the advice of others here to use screws with washers. Works great and much easier to remove if/when necessary.

Avoid staples! Go with U nails or screws with an added base.

I use an air stapler with long crown staples and my 188 pound self can't rip the wire off with all of my strength. You're good with an AIR stapler. Handheld staple guns are a no-no.
