I've been having issues with diarrhea and blood in poop for almost a month now, the chickens are now on their 2nd lot of Baytril and tested negative for cocci. Their poop has mostly firmed up but still signs of blood in some.
They are acting healthy and eating almost double what's to be expected.
Does anyone know what this could be and what next steps should be?

How old are your chickens? Are you giving the Baytril directly to them or in the water, and what dosage? Have you wormed them? I would give some probiotics, such as Probios powder from your feed store.

Honestly I would treat for cocci even with the negative tests. I have seen several members on her in the same situation with the negative tests and decided to just treated for cocci anyways which solved the issue with the blood in the poop.

They are just over 5 months. The baytril I have been giving in water 0.2ml per litre, I wormed them at the start of the issue with panacur. I did treat them with coxoid aswell at the beginning of this issue.

One was particularly ill to start, stopped eating and went very quiet so I brought him in and was making him smoothies and syringe feeding. He is since back to his bossy self.

with them all acting OK I was wondering if it could in anyway be normal??

do you think it would be ok to do another round of coxoid? I did 1 week full strength 2nd week half.

I also used the sanitising powder in the run and deep cleaned the coop.

The coxoid or amprollium should have been enough. Some use sulfadimethoxine or other sulfa antibiotics with a resistant strain of coccidiosis, but since you had negative testing, and they are eating and active, I would probably just watch them and give probiotics. I have seen where Baytril should not be given in the water, since it has a bad taste and chickens may not drink enough of it. Baytril 10% liquid dosage is 0.25 ml for a 5 pound chicken given twice daily for 5 days.

just wanted to update you, the probiotics did indeed work! Thank you so much, as the vet was suggesting more expensive tests to be done which thankfully no longer needed. Only needed to give them one dose and that was it!
