I hate assumptions prople make in generalities that have little or no bases in fact. Take for instance I had someone today tell me I must not be straight but live an "alternative lifestyle" because I have never been married and I'm older than 30. I know a female firefighter whom has been told she isn't straight either because of her career choice. I've heard it about male hairdressers, female police, any male in an "artsy" job ie any sort of wardrobe/clothing/interior design makeup for tv,movies etc. males elementary/pre-school teacher or male nurse, female pe teachers or coaches. the list literally goes on and on

I wholeheartedly agree. I have very thin, stark straight hair. I started cutting it very short with clippers and I loved the look. One of my doctors said "Well you aren't going to do THAT again." I told him I certainly would, I loved it.

My sister told me everyone would think I was gay. Her hair is as short as mine but, she pays to have her hair cut at some fancy place while I trim my own off (used to be a dog groomer).I'm amused that people think a hair cut changes your gender.

This year I let my hair grow out for the summer because I have to be very careful about sunburn. I usually wear a wide brimmed hat for that purpose but, can't on very windy days.

One of the ladies on the senior bus looked me over and remarked "Oh good you let your hair grow. Now you don't look like a little boy anymore." Was going to :smackbut didn't. I wanted to tell her men never thought I looked like a little boy.

Also I just bought some fleece lined flannel shirts (LLBean) . I bought one in men's size M. and one in women's L . The men's had very nice, soft, flannel, deep pockets with flannel lining. The women's style had stiff feeling flannel, unlined pockets. I returned the women's shirt and ordered a second men's style for me.

I have never had an hour glass figure, "the sands of time" collected at the waist and stuck there.Men's sizes give me room to button up a shirt without any gaps between the buttons.

I am a senior and have a son., so does Elton John. Mine came via my cesarian section.Who cares. We are both parents.

BYW I've never been married. No one ever asked me. I asked two guys and neither one answered. So there is that!:gig

Yep I am sixty two never been married... worked in the tool design field for a few years as one of the first female tool designers in the Aerospace industry here in San Diego...

I built things on my own with and without plans and can problem solve mechanics of things... Not machines but levers and gears and bending sheet metal...

To many I am just a bossy...knowit all...
Had more than my share of "discussions" on how to or how not to do things... where I just had to walk away and letum fail.

I also find it odd how people make judgements on food like bbq ribs, fried chicken, and watermelons are what one race eats, rice for another and beans for another race I'm not any of the 3 races but i enjoy those foods. my uncle was mad and shouting at me in a grocery store because i wouldn't buy any jello for my home. why? because i don't like jello.

I also drive a van but I don't ask little kids to get in my van for any reason, i'm not a former subway spokesman......
