Suspicious of this Amberlink (Cockerel?)

I'm back with another question. :) I bought all of my chicks as sexed pullets, but this amberlink has me suspicious. It is one of the smaller ones out of the four and it doesn't seem to be dominant but its comb is taller. I can't really tell if its tail is different or not and they all have thick legs, but this is the only amberlink that looks like it may have some brown across its back. The amberlinks and ISA browns are both 6-7 weeks now.

What do you think? Did I get lucky or am I going to be learning how to process a chicken?

Originally I had read on an old thread on here that amberlinks were white sex links, so females would be white and males would be red. The more recent threads I found about amberlinks said that they are feather sexed, not color linked (hopefully those are the right terms). I think this is right, since I found it on multiple threads here, but now I'm doubting my "pullets!"

So after googling and checking several amber link sites...I guess true amber links are the opposite of red sex links.

Females will be white with a small amount of red, while males will be red with smaller amounts of white.

If it really is an amber link, the females are yellow chicks and the males are red. I had amber link pullets and most got a little supposedly rooster red in the wings. I almost gave them away due to everyone telling me they were males. All 6 laid awesome when they were old enough. So if it's an amber link, it's a pullet.

Very handsome young cockerel. As you mentioned above, with processing, you could either cull him or you use him as breeding stock. With him as a father- (which he's still young), those would be nice looking babies. :)

Wait, really? Now I'm even more confused! This is what I had read originally (on here), but then I found a bunch of more recent BYC threads insisting that amberlinks were sexed by feathers when they were a few days old and not by color. Are amberlinks also from Hendrix? If so I'd guess they are "real" ones, since the TSC also had ISA browns.
Man, who knew chickens were so confusing! :barnie:lol:

Chicken math I tell ya... Plain ole' chicken math. ;)
But I wouldn't change it for a thang. :p
