Sussex, Barnevelders, Silkies... My Breeding Thread.

Coronation Sussex are lavender silver columbian, not blue silver columbian, so you cannot breed blue tailed buff, but you could get lavender blue gold columbian. But they'd be straw color, not gold.

Got it, though I did find a post on here saying whether Coronations are blue or lavander depends on which continent you're on...? I'd have to get on my laptop to find that post again...

Yeah I've heard that too. It's just lavender is the default. What do they look like? Lavender is usually lighter than blue.

I've not seen a coronation in person for awhile. These were some auctioned at one of the major shows last year though (not my pictures).

I guess you'd probably have to ask the specific breeder whether they raise blue based or lavender based. Visually, blue based has dark edging on the blue parts and some dark speckles while lavender based has horizontal dark lines.
Gold columbian (Buff) over blue silver columbian would give you sexlinked chicks: blue goldxsilver columbian and black goldxsilver columbian males and blue gold columbian and gold columbian females. Breed the blue daughters to buff Sussex males to get more blue gold columbians.
