I have a Plymouth Rock in the run with 2 adult hens, 4-3 month hens and a 3 month roo, I have a Brahma that runs around the outside of the run. They all know each other through the fence of the run. Gator ( my Plymouth), is not fertile, I've tried half dozen eggs and nothing. Now if I decide to hatch some eggs can I put Fred (Brahma) in and take Gator out? Will it be hard on the hens and the young ones? Or will they be OK?

If Gator is still where he can see them.... it may be very hard on him. The hens probably won't care.

Are you checking for bulls-eyes when you cook?

Yeah, between that and trying to incubate. Gave up on incubating when I got my 5 silkie babies.
