I have a buff Brahma who I noticed limping last week, she had a bumble in each foot which we treated like always and kept the foot wrapped and clean until the hole heals, noticed today one foot and toes was very swollen, unwrapped the foot and there no scan or bumble present but a very swollen foot and toes. She’s also molting and her leg pin feathers look very irritated and oozing a clear yellowish liquid. Can the pin feathers be infected? Could it be where I had to wrapped the foot/leg that irritated it? Should I cut into the foot and see what happens? Soak the foot? Sprain ankles? Right now I have her separated added neosporne and colloid silver to the irritated areas and also put prid on the bottom of the foot (even tho I don’t see a bumble). Her other foot is just fine but I just have no clue how to help her now and help would be great! Still her her separated with some rooster booster for the night and while I’m at work tomorrow, hopefully she can be okay till I’m back.

Seen a small hole today, soaked her in Epsom salt then tried to open the spot to see what was in there and we got nothing but clear ish yellow liquid added some medicine I had on hand and wrapped the foot and left her in isolation hoping it will start to look better but not sure what else I can do for her

The outside toe where the feathers are are now turning green any help would be great I’m at a lost what to do now

Green skin can be bruising. I am wondering if the wrapping on the foot could have slipped and become too tight, or that the foot became more swollen making the wrap too tight? Squeezing the foot to get out any pus can cause bruising. Tomorrow could you get some new pictures especially of her left swollen foot pad, as well as the top of the foot?

There have been a couple of threads recently where the foot dressing became tight and caused circulation problems in the foot. One of the chickens lost the foot last week. Hopefully, you are just seeing swelling and bruising.

Someone on Facebook told me it could be gout? Does that even sound close and if so how can I treat that, most of the information I find about it isn’t in English 😩
