Symptoms to bird flu

I found this on google:

Signs of infection in poultry, backyard flocks and pet birds may include: Sudden death with no prior signs. Low energy or appetite. Purple discoloration or swelling of various body parts.

Apparently birds with avian flu don't get sick, they get dead.

Please note that frostbite on roosters' combs and/or wattles can also appear as darkening and swelling, so if you've had unusually cold temps and you see these signs in a rooster that otherwise appears healthy, assume he's suffering from frostbite, and not AI.
My rooster kind of looks like that

if you look at the tip of his crest you can see where some of the skin is froze and fallin off

Guys. Please share your experience.
When a Chicken/duck is infected with avian flu, it means death. There is nothing to reverse/heal it, right? It is a lost battle and the best thing to do is to end its suffering.
