Is it okay if I tame a pheasant by making it eat only from my hands two times a day? Or should I leave food in a bowl for it all day?

I apologize for my posting. I will leave food available at all times for my pet pheasant. I will tame her by just spending time with her and offering treats
As @sourland stated, pheasants have not been kept in captivity as long as chickens have been kept. They are gamebirds, and as such, should not be made 'pets'. Your bird needs a balanced and complete feed ration at all times, they don't need treats, either....they are not like dogs or cats, if you want a pet, get one of those!

Because of the way their brains are wired I don't think you can tame a pheasant.

What I have found to tame our pheasants is feed them raw peanuts and dried mealworms. First, simply throw the treats in the bowl when you fed them. After while, the pheasant will slowly come closer and closer to you, and eventually it will start eating peanuts/mealworms out of your hand.

I hatched my golden pheasants in my house, so obviously they are imprinted on humans... but even if that is not so and you start out with a young bird- of course you can tame a pheasant. It will not be domesticated, but can become tame, friendly and spend time with you like a lot of other wild birds.
Treats is the way to go.
My chicks always have food and greens but they come over to spend time with me even so.

I’m glad to read of your positive experiences with taming pheasants. I’ve found this site has members that are very quick to tell you what you can’t do. Pessimistic crumudgeons abound.

A friend of mine has s flock of wild ring neck pheasants living in the field with her horses - they are safe there as no one is allowed to shoot close to livestock... so even though they might seem a bit daft at times maybe they have some street smarts. 😁 They come running over when called but of course she can't pick them up or anything like I do with mine.
