Hi,
just wanted to get someone's opinion as to if i do have tennessee red quail chicks in the photos. I wasnt 100% sure.

Thanks!!

To Be Honest I Cant Tell From The Pix Here. Are You Familiar With Coturnix Quail? Because From What I Can See They Look Like They Have A Coturnix Type Beak On Them--- More Like A Chicken Beak.... Tenn Reds Are A Variation Of Bob White, They Have A Very Wide Curved Beak, Much Like That Of A Parrot Or Turtle. From What I Can See In The Pix These Look More Chicken Beaked---- Is That Correct? Did You Hatch Them Urself? If So What Color Were The Egg Shells?

Oh no these eggs were solid white, Bobwhite eggs. Maybe its just the pictures i'll try to get a better picture of them.

Ok I Just Cant See The Beak Very Well. Does It Look Like A Bob's Beak? All The Tn Reds I Ever Hatched Had Better Defined Colors As Babies, But That May Be The Pix Or Even The Breeding...

Yes it does look like a bobwhites beak. There is at least one chick that has medium brown lines running across its body. Are tennessee red chicks a solid dark brown color ? or do you think if i see stripes on them they might not be tennessee reds?

Thanks!!

Mine just hatched!
I cant tell much on their color yet but they are lots darker then the Bob's were and mine have dark beaks.
I am sure they will be fluffier in the morning.

how many did you have hatch?
My quail chick's beaks are light brownish do you think they aren't tennessee reds??
And mine have 2 stripes across their heads.

Mine are still really dark. I will try to get some pictures today.
I don't know enough about them to say. From what I am seeing on the internet the "wild" ones seem really dark with dark bills.
