I have cleaned and bangaded my rooster's foot. He has always had a limp from a foot injury as a chick, which is why this terrible bumble foot infection went unnoticed for so long. I have removed the core/corn and all necrotic tissue and pus. The tip of his toe bone is visible on his shortened toe.
It is currently wrapped with ointment and gauze and vet wrap, but he is limping again. He has lost weight. I'd like to give him penicillin.
From what I've read, its like 1/2 cc intramuscular for 5 days?
Does that sound correct?
