I have came to the realization that I have a rooftop. so. instead of indoor poultry. Maybe I'll have rooftop poultry™️ (the rooftop in question isn't all that small but I don't know the measurements) so still a small-scale operation
so the question is

the best poultry (be it chickens or something else) that pay for themselves (MAYBE profit? would be a good bonus) + make good pets ?

after suggesting the type of poultry. pls also suggest a breed from there

i know this is highly dependent on area. but I doubt anyone here is aware of my province in turkey (the country :lau) and I don't know if I can trust local farmers (maybe I'll try) because what if they try to sabotage me so that they can have even more sales. also do they even exist here xD

my climate ; dry, hot summers, cold winters, continental climate apparently.

let me say this beforehand. i appreciate ALL/ANY help. i might not be able to reply to them all. but Im so so grateful 💜 chicken up!!!!

also I did use the search feature its usually people focusing on one thing. im talking about whatever poultry fits me (ORR maybe something else if you think it'd fit)

Building the coop/run structure will cost money. Buying feed will cost money. Sure, you can sell eggs but I don’t know what they go for in Turkey. However having a clean source of eggs from well-treated hens is priceless. If you have a rooster you could hatch eggs and sell chickens to people if there is a need in your area.

I would stick with a strong heritage breed…Plymouth Rocks, Rhode Island Red, Australorp, or Orpingtons would lay for a number of years and give you a steady amount of eggs.
