The Chicken and the Duck Song

My sister has the best sense of humor and wit and I just had to share this song she wrote! She hears about my chickens quite frequently as one is named in her honor! She has also heard me say that I would like to have ducks. I told her that when Sara the Silkie laid her first egg (this is the chick that is named for my sister), I picked her up and took her to the house and told my husband to congratulate her - she laid her first egg. His response was not congratulatory but more of why did I have the chicken in the house. Sarah wrote the song below, to be sung to the Myrphy's Oil Soap tune for me!!!

Along came a chicken and he met up with a duck,
Quack quack said the duckie and the chicken said cluck cluck,
Well the conversation drifted from food to where to stay,
With the Jordans said the chickie and the duckie said OK!

Along went chickie with the duck in close pursuit,
In the Jordan’s house went the feathered two in close cahoots,
The dog looked at the cats and the cats looked at the fowl,
And all of a sudden burst forth a mighty howl

Well the dog chased the cats and the cat chased the chick,
The duckie said it’s crazy, they’re just all a bunch of ******,
He left the house and went down to the lake,
Settled on the water and gave his tail a shake

All the commotion woke Susan and Tommy up,
The cats all scattered, closely followed by the pups,
The chickie stared wide-eyed at his approaching doom
The next thing you know there was a righteous BOOM

The chick shook his feathers, just surprised to be alive,
Down beneath the sofa went the chickie with a dive,
