Just new to selling chickens so I have a question. I raise light brahma chickens and when I looked on the site of the hatchery where I bought them as chicks the juvenile brahmas we're an outragouse 110.00 a piece. I don't know why or if the breed is something special or what. I always see chickens selling for $6-$10 a piece....why such a difference?

Well there is considerable difference between breeding just what you have to see what happens, to breeding to the standard of chrarcteristic, and only that. Those people do not sell every bird they hatch for that price, just breeding stock that matches their goals.

It is a life long practice. Many inferior birds are culled.

This thread is a few months old so not sure we will get a response from the OP. But I agree the right questions have been asked. Which hatchery so we can judge maybe how close to show quality they might be and does this include shipping costs.
