Here is one year old "Queenies sister". she was broody until a couple of weeks ago. I took these pics this morning.
Her back and front are completely covered in new spikes to cover her nakedness but I cant get near her to show them.
She doesn't look happy.
This was taken last year but I wanted to share anyway lol
Rachel shed almost all of her feathers in one go at the end of breeding season....this was taken on our first frosty morning
Don't they look funny without their tails
The first year my tom moulted he lost all but two of his fan feathers. It was his 'Hiawatha' look. He still tried to wow his ladies with his two featherd fan lol
Very funny, unfortunately, or fortunately my toms molted a month ago and are finally looking good again, I never thought to take a picture because they were so moth eaten, and I didn't want to be accused of abuse, and a week ago those two girls were pretty naked and sad, my Turkeys seem to always molt hard, I would have loved to see old two feathers in action.
The BYC Official Worst Molt contest is underway. I would love a turkey to win this year!! Mine still haven't shown signs of molting....either have my chichens. Geez!!
