Hi, recently I lost a hen and I just had one left. She got very sad and would not eat (I've since gotten two more birds and she is eating a bit more now) and she is only about 6lbs. Shes a silver laced buff orpington which I read should be 10-12+ lbs. What can I give her to make her gain some weight?

What is she currently eating, including treats and approximately how much? How old is she? Is she still laying, if so, when was her last egg? When did you last examine her for lice and mites? When was she last checked (or treated) for worms? How does her comb and waddles look? Are they pale or vivid? What is the condition of her plumage? Has she been accepted into the 'click' with your new birds, or is she the outsider looking in?

While orpingtons are large birds, I would think that 6-8 lbs for a hen would be more accurate. 8-10 probably for a mature rooster, and those are variable due to individual genetics of course. I would look at body condition more than what the scale says to determine how thin she is. This may help:
