This is a hen, right??

6 week old Icelandic! I’ve been so back and forth on this one but I think now at 6 weeks and fully feathered she is looking like a hen? I know she has a bit of a comb but it doesn’t look very pink and the breed is supposed to have larger combs. Help me confirm lol.

FYI I’m making separate posts for the three breeds I have so it’s easier to keep track with all the different angles of pictures.

The comb is pretty big for that age, but the color pattern says female to me. It's a case of waiting and watching the comb. If it grows rapidly in the next few weeks, then you have a boy. If not, then probably a girl.

Another breed to add to my want list, lol. Love the crest. I'd go with pullet as well, but I'm no expert, but I still like to guess and see if I'm getting better at it.

She’s such a cutie. Lovely little personality too!

That head tuft is awesome. At least two of my Cream Legbars have a spiky tuft, like 80s Billy Idol, it's so cool.

I know, I’m so excited that she has it! Apparently it’s not standard for Icelandic’s, some have it and some don’t. So glad we ended up with one with that cute tuft!

I have one more Icelandic, only a week and a half old though. We’ll see if it also has the crest, this girls crest showed up a couple weeks ago. My little baby chick Icelandic has a very different personality than this one! Much more assertive!
