Hello! I am aware that Brahmas are notorious for maturing late, so I waited until these 3 siblings were 7 weeks old because their feathers can tell us a lot by then. So it seems for sure, I have one cockerel (chicken #1)...comb and waddles are definitely redder and feather patterns are more solid. The other two, I really think are pullets, but some things are questionable to me being new at chickens, so I was hoping to get some assurance. Chicken #2 is as big as #1 so it’s very confusing to me how a pullet can be as big as this cockerel. #3 for sure we thought it was a pullet being the smallest out of three and had very spotty feather patterns but it seems to be less spotty now. I tried to get their chest feathers and their top view shoulder feathers. Thanks in advance!

Now I’m wondering if there is any chance they might be some kind of mixed breed...we did get these 3 chicks and the mama from a free ranging farm and were told they were dark Brahma. Mama definitely is a dark Brahma. Ugh I’m such in denial right now and making up any kind of excuse for at least #3 not to be a cockerel. 🤣
