Hi, I am new to this blog--
My chooks have been laying for about 3 weeks (they are just 5 months old) and today---a most bizzarre, tiny peewee size egg ( a little larger than a jumbo olive) Does anyone know what is up with this? all other eggs I have gotten so far have been small to medium size, but this one today is tiny!

We call those 'wind eggs'. They're fairly common in pullets just starting to lay. Often they have no yolk, sometimes they are complete with yolk but just tiny.

She will stop laying them as her body adjusts.

I was speaking to a farmer about those darling little eggs. I didn't tell her what they were named on this sight! She said they used to call them "luck" eggs when she had chickens. I thought that was a wonderful idea. So far my girls have only given me one- but I cherish it:)

One of my girls left me one last week with a super huge egg next to it!

It had a yolk, it was very cute. I fried it up with the big egg (double yolker) and had breakfast!
