Ok, Ive had chickens for a year now, and they are finally producing quite a bit (well for my family anyway 4-5 eggs per day) way more than we eat. We eat maybe a dozen every 2 weeks (my hubby wont touch them, lol and its not a farm thing, wont eat them from stores either) anyway... When people have asked about selling eggs in TN, everyone quotes this
1. The eggs must be cleaned and sanitized in a solution of 200 ppm of chlorine and then rinsed.
2. The eggs must be sold in cartons labeled with the producer’s name and address as well as the statement “Unclassified Eggs.”
3. The facility must be inspected by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.
4. A maximum of 50 cases or 1,500 dozen (30 dozen/case) may be sold per year.
5. Eggs must be refrigerated at 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below.

and this seems pretty clear, but then there is this exemption list as well, that I never see quoted or people posting links to, that seems to me (unless Im misreading) that someone like me who just has a few chickens and are selling eggs only from their own chickens to people who plan on eating them theirself are exempt from needing a license... ???

take it for what it is worth) of the exemptions says you are exempt, because you are not an egg 'dealer', you are actually raising the eggs from your own flock and selling them.

No person shall buy, sell, trade, traffic or process eggs in this state without first having made application for and obtained a license as required by this chapter, with the following exceptions:

(2) Those who sell only eggs produced by their own flocks;
