I'm posting this real quick before I go to bed, but I got two cast iron gingerbread house molds from an antique store, but I can't figure out how they work. They are flat with detailing/designs etched into both sides, that, after baked and put together, would make a gingerbread house. Anyone??? Christmas is coming, and I gotta know how these work!!!! Thanks!!!

P.S. I just can't figure out how to put the dough into the mold, do I just put a ball of dough on there and use the rolling pin to roll it out flush with the edges of the mold, then it'll rise in the oven????

Hmmm....Oh, and if I do put the dough in the molds and roll it out, should I butter and flour the mold or just butter???

Maybe make it thin..like a cake batter and pour it into the molds?

I'm a championship level googler- I should quit my day job as a programmer and just google things for people.

You're welcome!

And I'm jealous, by the way, I want antique gingerbread house molds!

LOL, they are pretty cool....made in the USA is what got me, I love American made stuff!! They're in excellent condition, and it was only $10 for both of them!!!! They're really detailed, so I hope they work....I'll be trying them out in the next few months!!!! Thanks again!
