Hi All! I just became a first-time chicken mama to 9 chickens and I joined as I have lots of questions!! First, a friend gave me tomato leaves to give to our baby chicks, they loved them! But, we Googled it and it said that they are toxic to chickens. The friend who gave them to us said that her mom’s chickens eat it and they’re fine. Anyone have any experience with tomato leaves and chickens?

Welcome to BYC! We’re glad to have you here. :frow

My chickens tend to avoid tomato leaves, but I’m sure they’ve ate some. I wouldn’t give your chicks any tomato leaves because they are toxic, although I don’t know how much they need to eat for them to be affected by it. I’d imagine quite a bit. I mean if they don’t eat it often and in large amounts, they’d probably be fine, but I still wouldn’t give them it. There’s plenty of other things to give them!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

I agree with the others, tomato leaves are toxic. Doesn't mean they will die if they eat one, however it's not worth the risk. Normally chickens avoid toxic food as long as they are not starving to death. Just the same, I'd keep your birds away from toxic plants.
