Tool for Egg Gathering

My chickens prefer a dark covered area to lay their eggs and of course this is in a place that I have to crawl to get to. This caused my older knees and back to hurt since I was getting in some uncomfortable contortions to gather eggs. I found this nifty picker upper on the BIG on-line store and it works GREAT! Have had it for several months and now I'm able to grab my eggs without bending too much. So far there has not been 1 broken egg since the grippers are big, soft cups that cradle the egg. I thought some others may have these issues as well. I have attached the link to make it easy. These can be found in some stores but who can or wants to go anywhere!! Hope this helps some folks!

Great idea. I used my dogs tennis ball chucker a few times to get eggs out from underneath cantankerous birds.

Looks like that would work pretty good,
I was thinking a golf ball retriever might work too,
I'd 'force' 'train' them to use the coop nests tho.

Oh it is not the girls' fault that they have a nice nest box in a place I decided would be easy to reach (not!) The NEXT chicken coop will be arranged a little better!

I block those unreachable corners of the coop with buckets or things. But those are pretty nifty grabbers!
