Ok I was using a TSC Dumore 24% feeder grower for my flock for the last year with unlimited free range time on the side. It seems they stopped stocking it, so I ordered stuff I was going to use as an alternative. They are now charging for ship to store about in excess of $10 per 50# bag. I have never paid for ship to store before as I have to make the 30 mile drive that way anyway. I will be working my local mom and pop's for an alternative solution, but suspect others are experiencing this new policy shift issue as well. Heck if I wanted to pay for shipping I would chose my own dang doorstep.

have you tried Chewy? they ship free.

Tractor Supply did that because Dumor changed the Starter recipe to a formula that would sustain them until they need the layer feed. Mine are staying on starter until 16 weeks... they just changed the formula so an in-between isn’t necessary.
Unfortunately, my flock isn't a pure layer flock. My DW likes her pets so we do not cull the boys unless it is a behavioral cull. We raise gamefowl with nice feathering. The eggs are hidden throughout the property so it is always easter for the dogs. The ones we do find get scrambled and fed back to the flock shell and all. They are just yard candy but I still want to keep them in good condition.

I agree they seem to no longer offer my old feed on their site as well. It is a shame as on black birds(Sumatra) you can really see the purple iridescent banding in their feathering when they are not fed right. Green iridescence is the norm.

@007Sean I hate bothering you but with all of your pheasants(gamefowl) what are you using. I doubt it is a 16% protein feed. One of the items I had ordered was the Purina Gamefowl Flight conditioner feeds. Mine can go mow the lawn if they are missing nutrients.

Hey Allen, I have my feed custom milled. Before I began having it custom milled, I used Jupee 24% Gamebird Feed.

TSC sucks as far as having any of their bird feeds on hand...with the exception of Dumor 20% chick starter/grower.
Most of their 'gamebird feed' is Purina and the highest protien content is 18%! That is way short of being anything I'd feed my birds...plus it doesn't have the right proportions of essential vitamins and minerals...lacks enough Lysine and Methionine + cystine for gamebirds, especially turkeys, they need a fairly high percentage of those for optimum growth and overall wellness.

Allan, I have to suggest you look for a local mill and associated feed store. Deep South TX is, in many ways, similar to N FL Panhandle, I'm hoping you will have experience similar to mine. I had also been making the 1 hr drive ea way to TSC for feed - and even before the shipping policy change, I was having problems finding the feed I wanted (any variety of "All Flock").

Turns out, a local mill in the State north of me was producing goat feed, cattle feed, game bird feed, layer feed, and a bunch of others for local farmers, and I found a country store that carries it. So I've gone from 20% protein feed in a 40# bag at $16.50 to 24% protein feed in a 50# bag at $11.75 - and the 16% layer feed is cheaper still, so I am considering buying the bags in pairs, then making my fermented feed with equal scoops of each.

There's West feeds, around West, TX (actually, their packaging is kind of fancy) that likely makes what you need - they have a 28% Turkey feed, and distribute their product widely about the state. Sure there are others.
