I'm using my videos to show people ducks can be much much more than just food. Many people don't see them that way but my videos show an intelligent loving beautiful animal!! :D

On July 27th 2011 i hatched the most beautiful and loving pair of Rouen ducklings. due to the number on their eggs they were initially called Thing 1 and Thing 2 but over time they adopted the names Donald and Daffy. as babies i couldnt leave them for a second or they would be like a car alarm calling me to come back. it was a dream most of the time and i wasnt quite sure what to think but now, 11 months later i couldnt have asked for a better pet. Donald and Daffy have been through soo much. From being tought to sit on trains and buses to Daffy not walking for several months we have pulled through all the odds. They love me and i love them and they cant get enough of sitting on me or watching TV or me on my laptop. unlike most ducks these two are terrified of rain and water in general. The only way i can seem to get them to splash around is to put them in a pool which is shallow enough to allow their feet to touch the bottom. or alternatively jump in a pond and call them in. i want to know if anyone else out there has this sort of bond with their ducks and/or has managed to train them like me. it seems many people have skittish ducks who are only in it for the food ;)

here are some links to my beloved Boys

- Donald and Daffy on the train

- Donald and Daffy on the bus

Hope you enjoy :D

My runners changed my life, Marwan, and though we spend less time together during the day right now than we all would like (summer is a busy season for me), we are a close little flock.

They have taught me some duck language, and we enjoy each others' company. I get hugs from three or four of the ducks, and everyone is friendly.

I spent many many hours with them their first year and a half. There has been so much to learn from them and about them!

Welcome to the duck forum!

Wow, how did you all do it? Our Pekin was raised in our house but seems to only tolerate me. Even as a day old ducky she would bite my fingers when I petted or held her.
Please tell . . . .

My children loved your youtube videos! Thanks for posting them.

You have done very well with your ducks, sounds to me like they are two in a million.

I totally understand what you have with your duckies! I wish I'd been the one who got to hatch Daisy but I got her a little bit later than that. She is my sidekick though. She goes everywhere with me,even gets into more places than my puppies & I take them just about anywhere. I have a backpack that she loves to ride in & she just loves people. She loves to sleep on my bed at night & cuddle up under the covers or watch tv. Car rides are one of her favorites especially when we go to see my folks. Haven't taken her on a train yet but I have some days off coming up,I just might take her to San Francisco!

Your ducks obviously love and trust you very much. Great to see.

I don't mean to be a downer but I do hope that you don't meet any duck-chomping dogs on the bus or the Tube. Sorry to be a busy-body but I also noticed that one of them has a bit of a sticky/mucky looking eye. What kind of access to water do they have?

I'm sure that your ducks are a big hit in your local area :) They are both very handsome.

What pretty ducks! It's great that they love and trust you so much. I can't believe how well behaved they are. My little girl is way too energetic and squirmy to sit calmly on a train or a bus!

My ducks bite me alot. its due to them being soo close to me there not scared. they chase our bare feet so we have to wear socks or sandals. i just think its about the individual duck and they just need time and the affection. however there are a few who no matter what because of the way they are theyll just never be like the way you want them. trust me with mine sometimes its take alot of the word "NO" :D
