Tube Feeding Ducks - Updated 5/7/2020

Pics
When I do it, I sit with my thighs parallel to the ground and them on my lap facing right (I am right-handed). I hold them tightly & close to my body with my left arm and keep their mouth open with my left hand. That leaves my right hand free to hold the syringe.
I considered doing it like that, initially, but he's still so squirmy, even wrapped in a towel! But I can see where that might be easier.

I DO want to get comfortable with this. I have 5 ducks - I can't imagine this will be the last time I need to tube feed. I can hope it is, but I'm realistic. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thank you for your expertise!

I did see the first part. Been giving meds this way so I’ve got the method down. O can do the calculation on how much bu WHAT do I feed and do I really have to warm it that hot for a 2.5yo duck? Also, she hasn’t eaten for two days had a significantly decreased appetite for a few days before that. She is drinking on her own and has been intaking pedialyte most of the day. How do I know if she is hydrated enough to tube feed?
