Turkey hen squat? Pictures

I have 2 Bourbon Turkeys that I thought were both toms.
They are 6 months old now and still have a small snood, so now Im beginning to think hens. Hummm. Now Cody, the lighter one who has always been more friendly has started to lay down in front of me, I know why the chicken hens do that, so is cody doing that for the same reason or is it because he just likes being petted?
How old are turkeys when their snood gets bigger?

The lighter one isn't a Bourbon Red. Yes the hens will lay down for the toms for mating. With turkeys it's hens choice not like the chickens, she will pick her tom and lay down.

I am a new Turkey momma obviously, so what breed is she/he?
So does that mean it is a hen? does the picture help to tell?

I see a jersey buff hen and a Narri hen.

They are now 6 months old and I kinda thought they should be looking a little more 'rooish' by now.
But like I said, Im new with turkeys.

They will lay in the spring, turkeys are seasonal layers, so hens usually will start laying in their first spring.
