Hello! I have 6 BBW turkey poults that are in the 5-6 week mark, they are feathered out everywhere but under their wings, they are almost 2 lbs each and have outgrown all fully indoor spaces. Its staying above 50°F at night and up to 70-80 during the day. I have finished prepairing their mostly indoor coop for when they are adults (they will mostly freerange on our property of 6 acres as we rarely ever have any predators here) but during they day when it's super warm for this last week I've been putting them in this "coop" to be able to get some space from each other as they are quickly and suddenly becoming crowded in their brooder. This coop is inside of an old hay barn that cam be fairly drafty with these northern winds on the property that does not house any livestock at the moment (previous owners had horses) so basically I removed the walls the 3 large horse stalls inside the barn and used poultry netting to close the whole space in, mounted roost rods in the corners and have bedded out the entire space with hay. What I'm wondering is, are they too young to be in there overnight? It's abit drafty but I honestly have no where else to put them atm and their current brooder is just becoming so crowded by them that I'm starting to feel bad about them being in there much longer. I dont feel like I could put a lap out there for them as the Barn is too far away to run extension cords out to. So I'm not sure what to do, I've never had turkeys and greatly underestimated how fast they grow.

Bbw are ready to harvest at 16 to 20 wks. They get too big to roost without injury when they come down.
I didnt know that! I'll take down the taller ones, the main ones are only 2 inches from the floor, and we do plan on butchering them around 20-22 weeks.
