Is it ok to keep two ducks and one drake? The ducklings are only 5 weeks at the moment (turn 6 on Wednesday) I'm just worried the drake may become aggressive to the females, even though he is the most charming! Will I have to buy more ducks or even more drakes?

Your ducks should be fine! I had 2 females and one drake before I got more ducks, and I didn't have any problems. :)

What breed are they?

I don't think you'll need more drakes. I think he will be just fine with two girlfriends

To be honest.......You may need another Hen?.......If he gets all randy with the Hens in the spring? Another hen will balence things out.......No More Drakes though...........1 Drake to three to six hens is great........

Cheers!

The bigger the duck, the less "Randy" it is. I have two saxony pairs, and they are just fine with each other. My khakis fought a bit though

A lot depends upon the temperament of the individual drake. Multiple drakes in a flock tend to cause competitive gang breeding so I would go with the one drake and two hens.

To explain things a bit more......I have a Welsh Drake and a Call Drake plus 4 Hens.....

My Welsh is Dominant....As is my Buff Hen....They direct what the others are doing.......My Call Drake does not breed the other Hens....He breeds the Drake......Not fighting at all....He is bellow my Welsh drake.....They are pals......Spring will change things once hormones are raging........Then I will separate and hatch my Ducklings.....

All I meant, is an extra Hen will change the dynamics.....He will have more hens........

Cheers!
