So I’ve heard that Tylan can be bought in powder form and injection form and I need it for my chickens. I can’t find the powder form anywhere without having a prescription, but my local Tractor Supply has the injection form. I just feel really squeamish about injecting something into an animal, so I was wondering if it could be given orally? And if it can be, for how long? And can it be put in their waterer instead of me putting it directly down their throats?? I also don’t know if I’m getting Tylan 50 or Tylan 200 yet, so what’s the difference between them? Thanks in advance!

You do not have to inject the Tylan 50. You can draw it out of the vial with the syringe and needle, remove the needle from the syringe then give it orally. Do not put it in the water as you cannot adequately control the dosage that way.
The dosage is 0.25 ml per pound, three times a day for 5 days.

Thank you! So if a bantam is 1-1.5 pounds then the dosage will be 0.25 ml — 0.375 ml?
