Alright y'all me and my husband debate everyday what breed "Rooster boy" is, we joke if "Rooster" is a girl they will still be named Rooster. We got him from Rural King, the bin he was in was labed incorrectly, at this point unfortunately I cannot remember what chickens they had at the store that day, or what he was labed to be. He was one of the first chickens we ever bought (we are new to this whole chicken thing) and "Rooster" was the only one left and all alone, my son picked him out since he was lonely, we thought, why not?

I'll include some photos of him as a chick and what he looks like now, I apologize if the photos are low quality, if there's some context missing in photos fell free to ask me and I'll update accordingly!

"Rooster" is around eight weeks old and much smaller than our sapphire gems and lavander Orpingtons who are the same age, he is extremely fast, and a big big bossy chicken. He will square up with anyone and everyone in the flock.

!these photos are all of the same chicken!

Oh she must be something else then. I went on Hoover’s website and see that Sapphire Gems weigh 6-7 lbs. Another blue breed they carry is the Sapphire Olive Egger which weighs the same. The blue Copper Marans they don’t list a weight but wow if she’s half their size she might be a bantam, maybe blue old English

But she looks bigger than a bantam as a chick- especially if the hand isn’t an adult’s. Maybe prairie bluebell Egger which are half Easter Egger and half leghorn - breeds that weigh around 4 lbs. You’ll know when she lays an egg by the color which is a long time to wait

Congratulations, Rooster looks to be a pullet!

Rural King gets their chocks from Hoover. Looking at their website the most likely breeds seem to be sapphire gem, sapphire olive egger, blue copper marans, blue plymouth rock, or andalusian. They also sell blue jersey giants, so that's a possibility too. Of the bantams listed on their website, old english looks like the only possible match but she's probably not a bantam. She might be smaller than your sapphire gems for a variety of reasons from genetics to stunted growth. Her breed might become more apparent as ste matures, or when she starts laying.
