Greetings fine people! Just wanted to offer an update on the 13 eggs we 'rescued' from our Guinea couple's nest. We started the incubation on 7/07/2024. Keeping in mind that the nest was probably ~ 2 weeks old when we found it, we anticipated a less than 50% hatch and planned for half.

Y'all. All 13 eggs hatched!! First hatch was 7/31/2024 and last hatch was Saturday, 8/3/2024. Currently all keets are running amok in their plastic bin, eating like little toddlers and pooping all over everything!! I have to clean their bin daily and give fresh food and water on a 3-4 hour schedule!

In the pic, I noticed they are all sleeping at the 'cool end' of their brooder so I will now go decrease their temp (was supposed to be 95 F for a week but apparently, they are done with the heat!!)

Introducing sleeping baby keet pile and a pic of Dad, Reggie, because he's so handsome!!
