We are at about a week or so now (haven't done the date math), and I am suspecting that more so than heat... it might be gout. Her left foot appears swollen. She continues to hold her wings out from her body much of the time. I am suspicious that this could be the form of gout that settles into the joints vs around the organs. The names are escaping me right this instant. Visceral annnnnnd.....
Other than this, she seems 'fine.' She is spending more time standing up. I give her red cell and a baby aspirin once a day (3 days now, and I would like to stop).
Has anyone treated with ammonium chloride? We have this on hand for the goats and was wondering if this would be worth a try on the chicken (as in, i don't think it would hurt to try).. and at what dose?
Thank you.
