Just acquired this supposedly 2 year old hen, 1 month ago.
.super sweet follows you around fluffier than the rest of my flock.
Started noticing she hung her wings and would tip over if the dogs sniffed her.
Upon examination her breast bone is a razor blade and she has no meat on her bones!!
Have had her separated from the flock for a week, gave her nutri-drench & poultry dewormer 5x Fenbendazole capsule.
Started giving her the chick starter feed and had chick booster so put in her water...she was actively eating and drinking last week, but still empty crop....
Got her some yogurt and mised in birdseed she loved that..
But is getting more listless.
Today, I noticed her lower abdomen feels full (like water belly) and I decided to try 50 mg of cephalexin as I had on hand... used a syringe and mixed with water.. when I set her down it just drained back out of her mouth.
I am stumped any help appreciated.
