Hi all,

My girls just hatched a tiny little Serama chick yesterday, and I overnighted the Marek's vaccine so I could make sure the baby is vaccinated.

My question is two-fold:

1. How much would I give the baby since it's so much smaller than a normal chick? Regular dose? Half dose?
2. Has anyone vaccinated their Seramas? I've done sub-Q injections before, but only on cats - NOT teeny tiny chicks.

Thanks!

Hello I’m in the same boat as you. Did you ever find out if the dosage is the same for the Serama’s. I have normal sized backyard hens that came with the Marek’s Vaccine right from the farm I got them from. I bought the Vaccine already and the chicks were just born today, but I don’t know the dosage to give them and I noticed they barely have any extra skin to grab on the back of their neck.
