Vining Spinach (Malabar)---okay for chickens?

I've picked up seeds and now I'm not sure they're worth growing. I've read the leaves become "slimy" if not picked young enough.
Anyone have any experience w/ this plant? I don't think it's really part of the spinach family. Okay for hens?

i have grown it, and didn't find it all that tasty. it was hardy and i don't recollect any "sliminess". i figure fine for chickens if we can eat it. I have not grown it since i started raising chickens.

if you give it a try, i would like to know if they like it.

I grew it last year. Not impressed. The chickens weren't, either, They preferred the leaves on the sweet taters.

I'm not crazy about eating it but it makes an absolutely beautiful climbing vine on a trellis. I grow it every year, it's so pretty...

I have planted a few years ago .It is a pretty vine but not that good for the human food

maybe the chicken will eat it?

I love malabar spinach! I think it tastes very much like chard or spinach and is best eaten when young. It can be cooked in soup or stir fry too, cook just until wilted.

Chickens love greens. I notice individual chickens have different preferences, but they seem to enjoy young tender greens as much as we do.
